Onions from Seed to Germinating to Seedlings

Here’s an update on the journey of Onion Seeds, germination and seedling growth from Week 1 to 6.

There’s still time to sow Onion Seeds!

Where to Start:

  • Sow Seeds: January to February.
  • Where: Indoors on a sunny light windowsill.
  • Pot On: After 6 weeks, pot on to a larger cell tray.
  • Where: Put in a mini greenhouse or un-heated greenhouse. Protect from frost as they are young seedlings.

What is Next?

6 Weeks – Potting On Onion Seedlings.

At 6 weeks, they will have used up all the nutrients in the compost, so it’s time to pot them on, into larger cell trays and fresh compost.
