Coriander Glut

My two favourite herbs are coriander and basil. I use them a lot in cookery so it makes sense to grow quite a few plants. Sometimes all the plants are ready at the same time and there’s a Coriander Glut.

There’s still time to Sow Coriander!

  • Sow: April to July,
  • Harvest: May onwards.

What is Coriander?

It is a herb that is grown for its leaves, they can ease digestion and boost your immune system. It is also used to treat hayfever as it has anti-histamine elements.

What Growing Conditions do Coriander like?

Coriander does not like it hot, it likes it cool. If it’s too hot, it will bolt. Luckily there is a slow to bolt variety called Calypso. It it’s British bred and can also be cut back and re-grow quite a few times. This is the variety I have grown and always grow because it is reliable.
