Autumn Vegetable Garden – Video Walkthrough

It is September and Autumn is here. There is a visible shift in the Vegetable Garden in Autumn, the nights draw in, daylight hours reduce to 12 hours and growing slows down.

There are the Autumn harvests to look forward to like the squashes and pumpkins that are fattening up or ripening. And the joy of harvesting the last of the Summer plants like tomatoes before it gets too cold.

Autumn in the UK

This month there is a split between Summer Gardeners and All Year Round Gardeners. All Year Round Gardeners grow their vegetables through all seasons.

It’s a skill you have to build up over time and to experiment with different Vegetable Plants and methods depending on what you and your family like to eat vs getting used to the winter cold and being outside during these seasons.

This year, it’s the first time all 4 of my Vegetable Raised Beds will be full up with Autumn, Winter and Spring Vegetables.

Personally I love Autumn! I love the colour changing leaves the most.

Banff, Canada in the Autumn

I travelled to Banff in Canada once for a Rocky Mountains holiday in Autumn and nothing prepares you for the massive woodland leaf colour change backdrop against the flowing waters of the blue Bow River that runs through Banff with the odd moose amongst the trees. It was an extraordinary landscape and one I won’t ever forget.
