I’m so excited, as it will soon be time to pick the peas in the vegetable garden that never make it to the kitchen. I love the first peas of the season and the pea flowers are so dainty, white and I could look at them all day long. Then come the bees and insects to pollinate them and then I love checking on them seeing when the first pea pods start growing.

I now usually start sowing my second crop of peas, which replaces the first crop. This year I’m growing Mange Tout, which are flat pea pods which are great in stir fries. The variety of Mange Tout I’m growing is called Carouby de Maussane which has amazing purple flowers which I love, they really put an injection of colour into the vegetable garden.
