What’s on this weekend – RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch

I love nature and I believe the best place to start seeing wildlife is your back or front garden. This weekend is the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch so it’s the perfect time to get started in spotting what birds are visiting your garden.

All week the RSPB Love Nature Facebook page have been posting videocam footage of birds feeding from a pile of seed and peanuts on a bird table. This is great for the kids! my daughter aged 2 spent a good 5 minutes watching these birds fly into and away from the table.

View the above video to see the bird cam at Loch Garten, Scotland, recorded live a few days ago.

If you would like to take part in recording the birds in your garden, RSPB would like you to fill in a survey. Visit the RSPB site to find out more.

Start watching the Great British Garden Bird Watch live on Saturday 30th January and it goes on until Sunday 31 January and let us know what birds you spot in your garden.

About Me

Hi, I’m Tracey — vegetable grower, passionate learner, and firm believer that anyone can grow their own food. While I work as an account manager during the day, my spare time has been dedicated to growing vegetables in my back garden for the last 23 years.

What started as a hobby grew into a passion, and now I’m building a place where others can learn too. This is your veg-growing hub for practical advice, seasonal inspiration, beginner-friendly learning, and real gardening experiences from someone who’s grown through every success and setback.

Real gardening, real learning, real harvests.
