This year I’ve grown a great Early variety of Sweet Pepper called ‘Napia’ and some of my early potted plants have already turned red.

The rest are still green and they are weighing the plants down. I’ve had about 5 of these rams horn type sweet peppers on each plant.

How do I know when my Sweet Peppers are ready to Harvest?

They are the same final colour all the way round the fruit. In this case mine are red. It is quite a slow process from green to dark reddy brown to Red and takes between 7-14 days.

How to Harvest Sweet Peppers

You will need:

  • Sturdy scissors.

1. When your peppers are red 🌶️, harvest them as soon as possible otherwise pests may attack the skin.

2. Cut the green stem joining to the top of the pepper with a pair of sturdy scissors.

3. Congratulations! 🎉 You have grown your own Sweet Peppers, enjoy raw in a salad, dip or Stirfry or warm through in a pasta dish. You can even stuff them with your favourite fillings!

4. Make sure you take a photo of your pepper or any other harvest and Share it on Social Media, type Hashtag #SowGrowHarvest
